In May of 2000 my daughter asked me what happened to the Cove house. When I asked her what
she meant, she said that it was gone. Although Barbara and the city of Cove both claim that there
was not any contact between them regarding the demolition, the record suggests otherwise. Note
the name change during this time. This despite all documents (tax records, deed etc.) listing Larry
and Barbara Bare as owner.

The following are excerpts from the Cove city council meeting minutes 1999-2000

November 2, 1999- Councilman McClelland voices complaint about Larry Bare's property on First
Street. Ordinance was reviewed as to steps to follow. Councilman Evans moved to take action on
Bare's property re violation.....

December 7, 1999- Recorder advised that she had not begun the steps necessary to require Mr.
Bare to clean up his property on First Street. Wanted to make sure council is ready to start the
process. Councilman Lundy stated that he has driven through town and that Mr. Bare's property is
by far the worst in the city.

February 1, 2000- Recorder prepared draft of Notice to be sent to Mr. and Mrs. Bare regarding the
clean-up of their property. After a couple of typo's have been corrected, recorder was requested to
send out.

February 7, 2000- Certified mail from the city of Cove to Barbara and Larry Bare RE: Cove property

March 7, 2000- Recorder advised council that papers have been served on Mrs. Bare regarding the
clean-up of the First Street property. Advised that there are a couple more steps to undertake
before the site can be cleaned up.....
